Wonderful Wroclaw #2

Hi!
Tonight I want to show you second part of my way from school. I actually don't feel like posting it in the way I did last time cause showing you all these places with only one sentence about them is not really cool so i just decided to show them to you another time, one by one...not all together.

Today i just want you to see how artistic and creative place Wroclaw is. Keep calm and watch the pics :)

Ther's another piece of polish music i want to show you. Monika Brodka is one of the best polish singers in my opinion so I really would like you to listen to this song :) It's about Warsaw, the capital of Poland btw.

Wonderful Wroclaw #1

Hi!
Today I had to go to my school again to get my teachers sign on documents which i had to take to my new school. So I decided to take some photos on the way to show you a part of the city, ENJOY :)

The Racławice Panorama, a  big cycloramic painting, painted by many famous painters... Worth to see it. 

Church on the right, shopping mall on the left, it's called Galeria Dominikańska, i recommend to eat there some  ice-cream, the best ones in the city in my opinion.

The end of the school year

Tomorrow I start my summer vacation. Most of students in Poland end school year on friday but it was my last year in this school so we have a special ceremony on the day before the others.

     Last day of school isn't an ordinary day at school in Poland, you don't have to take any books and other learning stuff. You just have to wear nice elegant, clothes and some of the students have to do some shows or acts to entertain parents and other students.

After a big ceremony and hearing the magic worlds "You're all free, it's vacation now!"  you go to your classroom  and take your grade card. Than if you want to you can go to some teachers and say "thak you" in personal and give them flowers or chocolates.

Than you just say good bye to all people you know and go home or to the mall with your friends just to hang out and maybe eat some ice-cream.

I'm quite happy that it's already summer and vacation but on the other hand... I will never meet this people in that cool team again! No matter how much did i complain about them, I still love them all and will miss them in my new school. So thank you all, I wish you all the best! :)

The Dumpling baby

Stop motion

Today I want to tell you something which is not connected with poland in straight line but i have done it for two last days and I just think it's absolutely awesome.
       So, for the words of explenation: few people from my class have won two day long lets say "classes" of stop motion methods and in my opinion it was really cool.
Now i know how hard it is to do a short cartoon cause it's not like makeing films. You have to put everyting on the right place, than make shot, than move everything a little (not further than 0,5cm/0,20inches) and it's a really hard work if you have to move like 20 super small elements in one shot...takes hours and hours but totally worth it.

I'm also really glad because people who came to our school to teach us were kind and cool and they behave more like friends than teachers ( greetings for mr. Tomek and mrs. Aga!).

Our work was showing history of an area in my town (Reclau/Wrocław) called Ołbin. We made a nice short video in two days which is not so small, just try to do 10 seconds of cool and fluent shots, not so easy huh?
Video shows some people and places conected with Ołbin, hope it will soon appear in the internet so i will be able to show it to you! Obviously it's in polish but i hopefully will do some translation ;)

And there you have a nice example of stop motion shots nicely puted in a video.

What does Kurwa mean?

Kurwa is probably one of the most popular word which people from other countries ask poles about.

There's nothing weird about it cause many polish people overuse that, it is really common and it can mean lots of things depending on a context. 

Coming back to the main theme:

Kurwa basically means "fuck". This meaning of kurwa is used for example when something is really painfull or something went wrong. 

Another meaning of kurwa is whore or bitch. It doean't have to mean that girl who you call like this sells her body it can just be used to offend somebody, sometimes even a man.

There are also another kinds of "kurwas" with some prefixes and suffixes but they are not super needed to know in my opinion.

Hope this post wasn't too offensive for anybody.

Hello and welcome on Polish Dumplings!

For the words of explenation. I want people around the world to get know more about polish kulture and habits, because i think the knowledge about my country is quite poor for that moment.

I want to break the stereotypes, burn them and split at them... or maybe just confrim some of them with a good and clear aguments.

Things I want to talk about is kulture, people, habits, food, literature, movies, art, fashion and much, much more.
